dAmn sick!

Feeling very bad today, both me and my sis have come down with fever, flu and sore throat. Feeling extremely weak now, got to go sleep. Sorry Poovitha, can't make it to school to give ur badge. I owe U.

India

Ok, since I am back from india, here's a short summary of what i did. I stayed there for a total of 12 days, excluding the first and last day.

Day 1: stayed at my grandma's house did nothing as i only arrived there at mid afternoon.
Day 2: When to a famous temple, its unique in the sense that most of the devotees wear red only.

Day 3: Went to Gengin Fort and climbed all the way up the hill. For those who don't know, Gengin fortress is a a palace located on top up a hill 400 meteres high. Its famous for its ruler Desinga Raja, (there is even a song from a movie bearing his name). Pictures below, too lazy to caption them .
Day 4 - 7: did nothing much, played around with my uncles motorbike, and visited relative's house. Wathed rendu and chennai kaadhal on pirated disks.

Day 8:stayed at cousin's house

Day 9: Another grandma's house

Day 10: Did nothing

Day 11: Came back to Chennai, it was a hectic day. First early in the morning, went to see a house that my parents were building, it was huge. Then Disd nothing untill late afternoon to watch a movie (Sivapathikaaram) , Movie wasn't so good, so when rest of the family left home, me and my uncle when to Satyam theathre for a movie, but couldn't a single ticket there. So we went for some late night shopping. I a managed to get a 2 gb memor stick for only Rupees 1325 (abt 60 dollars). It retails at $300 here in Singapore. Then, later we went to a restaurant to eat and then went home, it was soo fun. I had great time with my uncle.

Day 12: On day twelve me and my other uncle to buy more stuff. Then went to the beach, but me and my other uncle got lost from the others so it was not fun at all, furthermore it was night. So me and the two uncles when to watch tiruvilayyadal arambam at night 10 p.m (singapore time 12.30), it was very late. The movie is super damn good, all u guys should watch it. Then left home, slept, and finally left for Singapore the next day.


Conclusion: From this visit I learned that india is very great and huge, and that there alot of things to be seen there. I am definetly going there next year. Me being a indian myelf, miss india alot now that I am here.

Whoo Hoo! my birthday is on the way!!

Hehe, my birthday is still 4 days away and I am already excited, hehe. Ok, anyway here's the deal, I won't be celebrating my Birthday this year (sobs...). However my cousin's birthday is tommorow (happy birthday Ravin!) and my father and his brother(ravin's dad) have decided that we will have a joint birthday celebration on Sunday at thier house. This means that I get the presents and sort of get to to celebrate, I am so elated right now after reading this.

I think I will post some pictures, considering how cute Ravin is, he is only 2 as of tmr btw. I think he's the yougest cousin I have. Yeah I am gonna have a rocking time!

Yesterday

Yesterday went to IMM with family, bought some stuff for sis, got my self a few t-shirts, and then came home. Originally wanted to go to sitex but the plans were changed, (sobs, i though I could get myself a new mp3). Anyway, thats all.

OK, SO far...

umm.. Yesterday, I did nothing much, but got started on some english project that we supposed submit on the first day of school, I was voted to become leader(urgh......), Aarthi is the Secretary, James is the creative manager(you have creative way of using words aarthi) and lastly Poovitha is the info collector.

The project aside, you guys reading this should check out microsoft office 2007, its so damn cool, the user interface has been totally revamped so those who are used previous versoins will find this totally ET.

Another news and this is the most important, my aunt went to SITEX yesterday, and she was told that from yesterday onwards there is a free wireless broadband service throughout Singapore for the next three years, you can sign up for it free here

Me and my Dad are going to SITEX tmr to check out if there any good deals.Update you all on that tmr. Maybe I can convinced my Dad to get me a new audio player. hehe.

And lastly, I just finished watching the entire smallville season 6 on www.yourtvlinks.com . those who want to watch all the lastest should go here. Maybe the only show that is not working there is Prison Break (hehe, too bad cookie). Any way I finished downloading Prison Break yesterday and most likely be watching it today.

Anyway, again I did nothing important in the past two day. Learned poker yesterday and boy its one heck of a complicated game, but Its fun....again, FUN. Then I watched two videos about poker. The first one being Official Poker Card Stunts And the second on being Weapons of the Card Shark. WoW...I love those Videos, good cheating resource for any poker player wannabe.

GOt the DVD superman returns and just finished watching it. Was to go to school to give poovitha her some NPPC badge but had to go to my cousins place intead, (sorry Poovitha)

Ok, for the past two days i basically did nothing. Was browsing through penguinamagic t get myself some trick(my dad promised me that i could by some trick for my bDay. ) And i was looking through and found some very interesting illusions and guess what, i found out that if i buy something for above US60 dollars, I get this 'raccoon for free' as part of a promotion nad the raccoon itself is worth about 30 dollars, so seems like a very good deal, anyway here is a vid of the raccoon, so cute

Swimming

Today, went swimming with my cousins(their were staying here for the night), must say that it was quite fun, maybe they were the contributing factor to my madness but hey, I am feeling caraazy! even as I am typing this. Ok, me cousins just left, and am planning to sleep really late today,and for the record, so far for this year, I have wasted exactly 21 decks of cards, rest in peace my little friends.

Open House

Today is the 24th of November AKA Open House, so went to school and helped set up our booth. Then sat day for a couple of hours doing nothing, soon I realised that it was going now where, non of the parents came to the NCC booth. So I started going to the English editorial booth were Aarthi and Karthick were and was hanging out the for awhile.......Soon Kumar popped up after his Marshall Duty and and were walking around. Then we started having the ol' game of truth of dare till about 4.30. Then everybody started leaving and now I am hear typing about what happened.

Is it friday the 13th already?

Today's main events were the movies but other stuff cropped up as well. And by the way, a hell lot of unlucky stuff were happening today.

First woke up to find out that i had all my clothes in the laundry(bad Luck 1)...except for 2 shirts and a pair of pants....all thanks to the stupid washing machines(long story...don't ask)

Than went over to cousin's house and stayed there for a while at about 2, left for JP, and I fell on the way there(bad luck 2) to watch a movies with friends( Aarthi,Joelyn, Nanda). The movie was Casino Royale.

The movie: Ok the movie was not bad, but I was not satisfied thanks to the ending. Miss the good ol' days where Pierce Brosnan was 007. There was a torture scene and I must say it was very creative(those who watched the movie will now what I mean.hehe.)

During the movie, spilt some cheese onto my shirt( bad luck 3) but it hardened and chipped off. Towards the end of the movie I tried to shock the Cookie but it remained static as ever. End that when everybody was leaving, I took Cookie's and Joelyn's Slurpee's to dispose them like a good boy but the it spilt onto my shirt( bad luck 4). Once we left the theathre , I realised that my HP was still in there and rushed back to get it(bad luck 5), I almost had a heart attack thks to it)

Then me and nandha left for jurong east because I had to settle something with my credit card, once that was done, we were trying to find a taxi to get home and it started raining, we finaaly found one but were wet and drenced by then(bad luck no. six)

Now I am preparing my NCC uniform for the open house tmr.

What a day today

Had the open house rehearsal today and guess what I was helping the Tamil department displays and preparing the NCC CCA display at the same time!.
Went home later.....................
And was chatting in MSN with the guys for almost for 2 hours, we were deciding on where to go tmr. Soon all left, one by one, leaving only Aarthi and me online now.

About today.....

Went to school to help Mrs Subas .... Then we started playing Cards in the tamil classroom.Then we had a truth or Dare session, during the time, I was teaching Aarthi Cookie Monster some card moves. Later we left to Mcd for lunch. Mrs Subas also came along. Then while Aarthi Karthick, Zaahid all went home, me and Kumar went swimming at Jurong east. Then came home, did some video editing Mrs Subas gave me. Asked Aarthi for her photo and now I am doing stuff so that it looks utterly stupid playing with it. For those who are reading this at this time of the night, Good Night...Sweet Dreams...Don't let the Cookie Monster Bite.

Today...........Again

Today, went to watch a movie with my family, and guess what we ended up watching a tamil film again....Actually wanted to watch the new James Bond movie but the showtimes were not favorable. The tamil moive ( Vallavan) was OK. Later we spent some shopping and I found this toy called silly Putty, I immediately bought 5 of them, and they are so much fun. I am playing with them just as I am typing this.

Another good news: I finally convinced my father to get a PS3 for me, Expecting it badly.

Today...

today went to the school to help Mrs Subas in some recording thing, well after that we all went to McD for lunch, and we spent like 3 hours there talking crap and playing card.
Accomplishment of the day:
I finally shocked Aarthi Cookie. Well she's not much of a tough Cookie after all. Ha Ha.

The Beach!!!

Yesterday Kumar, Karthick, Joleyn, Jaya, me and Her Cookieness Aarthi went to the beach. It was at first supposed to sort of a class outing but only about half the people turned up, this made most of us feel that it was going to be boring but guess what, it was the exact opposed, we had great fun.

Joelyn was the first to get wet, then it was the Cookie's turn, after a few minutes of being dunked into the water by us, what was a tough Cookie became, well, a soggy one. Karthick started swimming in the water and it ws during this time when we were pushing the girls and karthick into the water, Me, kumar and Jaya did not get wet until the girls left to fetch Vinoth and Ariffin.

We ate some snacks while there and Cookie's Sandwiches tasted quite good.

When the girls left, the target was no longer Karthick or the girls but ME. Jaya pushed me into the water and dunked me a little bit and then Kumar had his turn. So, in others words the last man standing(the others were swimming) was Jaya.

The girls came back with Vinoth and Ariffin but those two didn't take part much in the activities.
Then we spend time swimming around trying to go as deep as we could. We left at about 6.30.

Overall had a fun and enjoyable day.

Have not posted lately so here it is.................................................

On thursday, went to Kumar birthday party. I think about half the Tamil class was there. We spent the time talking and .......Cooking, yes cooking, this is because we went to a Steamboat. Was lots of fun seeing everyone cook. I personally did cook anything much but had others cook for me, like Karthick, in fact he was sat off like the Chef over there cooking, cooking the corn and re-frying the french fries for us. Like on how to use the chopstick to some extent by looking at Aarthi handle them. Left the place at around 9.35. Made a challenge with Aarthi (again..) that I could scare her but I failed.( once again, she's a tough cookie). Went home at 12.

On friday installed Windows Vista on my computer and its currently giving me loads of problems, going to fix that soon. Well that's it.

To the movies.........

The most important event today is........drumroll....................................................Tamil Class Outing !!!

Today went to the movies with most of my Tamil class, some could not make it. It was really fun, Watched a tamil movie my the name Varalaru(godfather). Movie was not bad. During the movie ate popcorn and nachos. The cheese dip is a winner. Anyway had a really bad headache from the coke that it drank. After the movie ended we went home(duh....)

We were making a lot of noise in the MRT, Everyone was snapping pictures of each other with their respective camera phones. Then I started testing this theory involving me looking straight into the eyes of others and make them laugh. Then I and Aarthi stared at each other with me trying to make her laugh. Even though she was a tough cookie at first, she soon started smiling and I was sure she was going to laugh, but she didn't. Then we both challenged each other with me saying that she will laugh at home thinking abt the incident and guess what....SHE DID!

Anyway had great fun today, and hope we will have just as much next year too.

One sleepy day

Today went to school for physics lesson, but couldn't concentrate a bit. Was feeling lethargic throughout the lesson. In fact the first thing that I did after coming home was sleep.Also downloading the movie 2001: space odessey. Seems very interesting to me. That's all for today.

Results

Received my report book yesterday, did not do too well, my overall marks decreased by 0.7% as compared to my mid-year results. I also went down by from 3rd to 4th in the overall rankings. Not happy at all, Going to study throughout the holidays till a understand every little bit of detail in all the subjects, especially E-maths and A-maths. I am going to work very hard to become one of the top 3.

Anyway, today we had to watch a Chinese local movie in crime prevention and it made a lil' bit angry. its very unfair for me because I am forced to watch a movie which I don't understand at all, will the Chinese students like it if there were asked to watch a Tamil movie, Urgh......., anyway.............
Deepavali and Hari Raya celebrations took place today, Was quite hectic I can say for some of the students. Aarthi was the MC for the show and she presented very well. Kumar was dancing for one of the performances and and i felt funny seeing him dance, but he did dance quite well. There was a Malay performance and a Indian performance but I have no idea why the hell was there a modern performance, its not even related to the celebrations.

Getting the report book tomorrow and feeling a little bit nervous.

Sad news

I just received a message from my parents that my Grandfather past away today, sad but I don't tremondously sad. Rest In Peace grandpa.

Very stressed now, my physics exam is tmr and received bad news. My granfather is very sick and has given only 24 hrs to live. Both my dad and uncle just went to India to be with my Grandfather's last moments. However it was also mentioned that there is a slight chance for survival. So, I praying every moment now that my grandfather will survive. GOD show mercy on my grandfather.................

So Far......

On tuesday went to school for e-maths project meeting and guess what, we did nothing. Zhi Min was busy witth chatting online while james was doing somthing else. I am seeting there like a idiot. After ten minutes james say meeting is over and that we got to go. WTF, we did nothing and he wants us to go home. So left school, saw sufian and deepak, I followed them to Jasper's house and decided to help them out on thier e-maths project. Realised that they product was awesome, good job guys. Played some games with them and then went home at seven.

Wednesday I spent the whole day doing Homework. Finished English and Chem (one more chapter left)

Today going to finish all my Homework and study a little bit.

Lastly I decided on tuesday that if i end doing most or even all of the project again like my english project, I am only going to write my own name, and report to the teacher that the others did nothing. I am sick and tired of people reaping he benefits of my hard work.

A fellow classmate went around in the forum spamming everyone in his anger, Kah KAy got thrashed and i think she got hurt a little bit. School Holiday

Today was a school holiday and I must have spent my longest time with computer since last month. I woke up and 11 and took a shower, had my lunch and than was up with my computer from then till now, except the toilet breaks and dinner. Watched a couple of movies, the entire season 7 of Malcolm In the Middle(hilarious) then spent like an hour reading those posts at the class forum(once again hilarious) but then the admin chickened out due to the post made by a classmate and changed the address of the blog so I can figure that out yet. Whole day, no matter what I have been doing, something about my class has been bothering me all the way along, I just seem to hate the majority of my class and I still cannot figure out why I hate my class out of the blue. I only have a few reasons and they only on some people. But I hate them all. Nvermine, maybe I am just wierd today. Kah Kay accused me of being the person who was thrashing her at the forum and that made me very annoyed, felt like killing her. Gonna add a background music to the blog soon, busy on it, cya later.

Recap for the past week

I got my spectacles broken because..... one of the most lamest think you would heart off, I walked straight into a wall and hit. I am a idiot

Then, on monday had my oral exam, Mrs Jenny Came to our class to give us a lecture a Aravindhan, I was not happy with her because she kept pinpointing me even though Samuel was the real culprit and I was totally innocent. That night I was full of anger. I also downloaded Malcolm In The Middle series 7 (the last one) that day. It just completed downloading today.

Tuesday I had my Bio test and Compre test. Bio was hard but I mamged to pull it through. English was damn easy even though most of my class mates felt that it was hard.

Wednesday I did nothing much, got back my Bio paper, happy that I got 19/20 and so did many of my classmates. Most of that owing thier success to me as I was the one who summarised the point to them. James and I had the a deal that If I printed 400 flyers for the class booth he pay me $8 for the printing charges but he did not keep to his promise (I will elaborate on that later). Had the compo test during English period and did the title based on temptation (I suddenly feel that Ideas could come into my brain more smoothly like rich creamed chocalte cake then before)

On today, my most disappointing day of the week, I went to school for teachers day celebration. I had promised Jasper that we go City Hall today so that we can by a couple of deck of cards for ourselves but I could because of James. James originally promised me that he pay me $8 for helping him out printing out the flyers but that bastard says today he could not pay because he does not have enough money from the class fund to pay me. He even went on to elaborate the he had not enough money to buy the Cake for teacher's day celebration. But there were two flows in his claim. First one being that he managed to buy the cake when he had not 'enough money for it', second is that Zhi Men just collected the class fund that day before. Since I had not gotten my ten dollars I had not have enough money to buy the decks(I only had $8 with me). Since I was not going Jasper became angry with me(sorry Jasper). Thanks alot James. Played Big Two with Karthick for some while and then went to Jurong Point To get rubber cement but instead got myself PVA glue as rubber cement was not sold there. Later went to my cousin's house and played Xbox 360 for some while. After that my father came over there and me, my uncle, my dad and my cousin when to city hall(I would have gone there with Jasper if James had not cheated on me). My uncle drove us there pretty quickly. Over at city Hall checked out some guitars and amps, and then went to some indian restaurant to eat. Then came back home. I thnk I have chosen a Flying V for myself but I will be going with Gaurav to buy the Guitar. And by the way, Happy Teacher's Day to all of you teachers.

Ok still some of my opinions. First of all, I suddenly became interested in watching Bollywood movies. I watched three of them which I downloaded off the net this week, KANK, Kal Ho Na Ho and Krissh. KANK was Ok, Krrish was Lame but Kal Ho Na Ho was the best, extremely good story. The movie teached me that I should live my live to the fullest because Tommorow may nver come. The movie was set in New York. Excellent Performance by all the cast. Priety ZInta was fine and Saif Alif Khan comedy was funny. Sharukh Khan stole the show as a dieing man who makes a difference in everyone's life, I am also addicted to the theme song. I suddenly also feel that most of the new Chinese Films ( the old ones are good) are full of crap and that Indian films are better.

Lastly, I increasing feel as each day past by that most ofr my class is full of backstabbers and wimps who only try to cover thier asses and not help each other out. The are a few people who I feel are exceptions to this but I don't want to tell who.
Also happy that I am getting my New specs this saturday.

After seeing people over at a hell lotta' magic forums discussing and cursing away our this topic. I felt that I should give out my opinion about this whole damn thing.

First up lets make this clear okay Ellusionist products empahsize on presentation and Misdirection While Penguinmagic products focus on the effect of the trick. Alot of people fail to realize this and thus they go into arguing with each other. Considering the fact that Ellusionist products are based on presentaion, some of them are really simple tricks but which be explained in a few words. But Ellusionist is able to sometimes make DVDs worth than 1 hour of runtime just by teaching you on how to present the trick so that even a trick so simple will just seem like a miracle in the eyes of the audience. Such example will be tricks like the revolution coin vanish and Infusion. Penguinmagic on the other hand, has a totally different approach to this situation, they just focus on the key points of a trick and elaborate on that. Thus, some of the more complicated tricks require set up or gimmicks. And there are also able to elaborate some really complicated tricks like the ultimate ace assembly in less than 20 minutes an yet allow the buyer to almost fully understand the slieghts involved in the particular trick and also how the trick should be performed.

Due to the fact that the companies follow almost totally different approaches to their products, they have their advantages and disadvantages. First lets start up with ellusionist.
Ellusionist- Advantages: - thier tricks are mostly impromptu
- slieghts required for most of thier tricks are not very complicated
- thier videos teaches alot of presentation ideas and also instruction how to misdirect the audience when needed in order to do a move succesfully in the trick.
- Bonus effects are somtimes included

Disadvantages: -Some of thier tricks are so simple to perform that you would want to kick yourself for buying it and feel ripped off.
- Some of thier videos are just boring
- Some times brad christian is not a good teacher at all (there are times when his teaching was excellent.)

Penguinmagic- Advantages: - Thier instruction are short simple and nice.
- free shipping!(US only)
- Oz Pearlamn is an excellent teacher
- Focuses on the key movements only so video are short and sweet

Disadvantages: - sometimes, key movements from certain tricks are not thaught in detail as you are expected to buy them seperately.
- Tricks sometimes would require sleights that are hard.
-The background music in thier videos are not of a wide variety thus make you fustrated if you buy many instant downloads from them.


Conclusion - Well, I have given my opinions, its up to you to choose which is better, but I still feel that both are the same.

Finally modified my blog to meet my tastes. Happy that I going to a my Tally Ho Viper deck soon maybe today or tommorow. Today is national day so I am kinda happy cos no school for two days. Further Mrs Thong postponed the chemistry test to monday so i got some time to get a break from the hectic studying routine that i was goin' through for the past two weeks.

Yesterday, our whole tamil class had a outing. We went for bowling after having lunch at Mcdonalds. Mrs Subas paid for the whole thing. More than $300! Was very funny over at mcdonalds seeing karthick get stressed because he got really confused over ordering the food. We went for bowling and formed teams. We had Aarthi, Karthick, Jaya, Joelyn and myself in the our team. Joelyn went off early cos she had something on at home. Soon I started doing magic againg and some of the girls felt that my tricks were getting lame ( I really gotto learn more tricks and practice them well). Later walked to the bus stop with Karthick and Aarthi. I took 30, while the other took 240. I did'nt want to take 240 cos i just hate going through the Bool Lay area (dun know why, weird huh?) . Went home, had dinner , then slept.

By the way, I just got a brand new idea to earn big money. I invented a trick last week and i think its quite original. The guys over at magichat said that i should submit the trick to ellusionist.com and earn some cash. Gaurav came to know about the trick and he wants a percentage of the profit and I said ok because he is helping me out in the filming of the video. I came with another idea today, I will practice it and if it is good enuff, I will also submit it together with the previous one. The first trick works like this, i show the audience that both my hands are empty. But by just waving my hands i will make a 2 dollar note appear. Then i will visually change it to a 5 dollar note. Finally i will wave at the 5 dollar note again and it will disappear! Sounds to good to be true right, but it is so simple you will kick yourself if you find out the secret.

Also, I have gotten my posting for my CCA, I am Part A Project Manager. I think this has got to the lamest post ever made, I doubt that Part A s even have projects for me to manage. I currently hating Mr Woon for giving me such a post considering the fact that I have regularly turing up for CCA and taking part actively. What i further submit myself to is the fact the Woon Siong became ASM. I have no grudge against Woon Siong but the guy is one most iregular members of my CCA. All he did was go through Spec course and now he's ASM. P.Vinoth got to become USM(highest post) by the way.

Spec course

finally, spec course is over. I became th 3rd sergeant. It may not seem like alot considering that you could become a 2nd sergeant.But still, Rank is just a piece of cloth you get. Respect is what you get. The camp itself was quite fun. We spent the first two days at Sispec. It is more like a five star military hotel. Everthing there was nice. The next two days were tad bad cos we had to stay in at Amoy Quee camp. A very filthy campsite if you ask me. Next two days were the most horrible. We were at SCHOOL !!!!!!!!)But nevertheless, i manage to pass the camp

finally i got back my internet connection.... anyway spec course is just 2 days away.I am very sure that i will something stupid over at the NCC HQ and make a fool out of myself. Spec course is said to be very though. Well I am not sure about anything that has to do with spec course except the fact that there will be a few tests tkaing place to test what we know. Gimmicks

I found a section full of magic trick stuff at the local Toys'R'Us while searching for a present for my cousin. I imediately bought a stripper deck named as the phsychic deck by the manufacturer and a dancing hankerchief. Realised that the hankerchief ws ripoff, don't ask, while the stripper deck was actually of very high quality. It had plastic caoting which was very different from those cheap plastic decks that you can find. Furthermore, it seems very resitant to wear and tear. It was also about 5 times cheaper that the stupid hankercheif at only $4. My only regret is that the deck did not have bicycle back on it. I will be posting videos of the tricks soon after I learn the tricks well enough.

Poseidon review

On thuesday went to the movies with sister to watch Poseidon. It may seem a little late to watch the movie that has out for nearly a month but nevertheless it was good. We watched it in the IMAX format at the local omnitheatre. Maybe it was due to format of the film but the visuals in this were very realistic in my opinion. For those of you guys who don't like to waste thier listening to all those prolonged dialogues between characters this movie will be one that you must go and watch. The action starts within the first 15 minutes of the film. But these is also a good sign that there is a lack of story. I didn't enjoy much of the movie except maybe during the times when the CGI had a part to play. Overall, this movie is a stripped down version of titanic with good visuals.

I almost forgot, I also received my mid-term results back and to my suprise, after slacking for almost the entire half the year, I still came Third(!!) in my entire school cohort. My secret to success is pure slacking by the way, not as they say in the following picture
